Detroit Lions fans were beginning to wonder if GM Martin Mayhew and head coach Jim Schwartz were going to draft an OLB this year or not.

That question got answered in the fifth round.

The Lions, with the 157th pick, selected OLB Doug Hogue.

Hogue is new to the OLB position but will learn a lot under the current capable regime that includes: Bobby Carpenter (OLB, MLB, special teams), Ashlee Palmer (backup OLB and special teams), Landon Johnson (OLB who can also play MLB), Zack Follett (MLB and special teams), Isaiah Ekejiuba (special teams), DeAndre Levy (MLB), Vinny Circiu (special teams and backup OLB) and Caleb Campbell (special teams).

It is uncertain exactly which position Hogue will compete for, but we will welcome him, as we do all of the newest players to the Detroit Lions!
