UFC 129 Results: Jose Aldo vs. Mark Hominick for UFC Featherweight Title, Rd. 3
Aldo might not be gassed, but he's definitely fading and a shadow of his usually hyperactive self.
Either the weight cut got him or that opening flurry of action resulted in an adrenaline dump, but for some reason, he's looking very vulnerable. Mark Hominick can smell the blood in the water as he stuffs a sincere takedown attempt for the first time in the bout.
It's also worth mentioning that Aldo is also cut under his right eye and his looks worse, though neither warriors are cut in bad spots.
Aldo's not lunging into his punches and is strangely harmless on his feet so he shoots and gets a semi-takedown, but the Machine is up with no trouble. Meanwhile, Hominick is picking the Brazilian apart with the jab and Aldo could be in a heap of worry.
He could be except the guy is a champion.
Junior wobbles Hominick with a short right hand followed by a crushing left hook and spends the next 60 seconds in the Machine's guard, pulping his antagonist with ground 'n' pound to steal the round, 10-9.
Mark is now showing gore under his left eye as well.
