UFC 129 Results: Vladimir Matyushenko Defeats Jason Brilz
The Canadian fans can rest their heels while their guys take a well earned respite from the Octagon. Good thing, too, because Team USA is getting smoked with only three wins in eight confrontations with the imaginary Team Canada.
Instead, we get American Jason "The Hitman" Brilz against Belarusian Vladimir Matyushenko. The Janitor clocks in at a vintage 40 years old, but I don't think our Eastern European comrades age like the rest of us so take that number with a grain of salt.
They tap gloves before the Janitor starts the early barrage and Brilz is on the hard defensive right away. Not soon enough as a straight left knocks the Hitman onto Queer Street and a few ENORMOUS right hammerfists knock the life out of Jason's legs.
That was quick and brutal.
Vladimir Matyushenko defeats Jason Brilz by KO (punches) at 0:20 of the first round.
Yeah, no typo, it took 20 seconds. We might have a new leader for Knockout of the Night, with all due respect to John Makdessi.
Vladimir's English is almost as good as his hands.
We get a shot of B.J. "The Prodigy" Penn in the crowd and the Rogers Centre gives him a big cheer. Guess they've forgiven and/or forgotten his beef with GSP...two wins for their guy will do that.
