WWE Extreme Rules 2011 Results: All Is Right in Cenation

The 2011 WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view is complete.

At the completion of the event tonight, John Cena won his eighth WWE Championship title, which is his tenth overall major championship in the WWE.

Just as Cena won the title, news got out that US forces found Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden he has been extinguished.

Cena announced the news to the crowd in Tampa after the show was over.

Hustle.  Loyalty.  Respect.

Cena's victory was assisted by the interference of R-Truth, taking out John Morrison.  Cena followed with an Attitude Adjustment on WWE Champion The Miz from the top rope for the victory.

Until tonight, Cena hasn't held the WWE Championship since he lost it at Fatal Four Way nearly a year ago.

Christian has finally won the World Heavyweight Championship, defeating newcomer Alberto Del Rio in a ladder match for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship that was relinquished by Edge.

Edge came out in a Jeep and distracted Del Rio, causing Christian to gain the advantage and ultimately, the World Heavyweight Championship, the first of his long career.

With his buddy looking on, Christian has achieved his life long dream.  Now he is going to run with it as long as he can.

We have a new United States Champion tonight, as Kofi Kingston defeated Sheamus for the US title in a bonus match that was added to the card.

The match was contested in a tables match, and ended with Kingston hitting the boom drop off the top rope as Sheamus laid across the table.

Another bonus match was also added to the card tonight, making it eight matches total for the evening.

Big Show and Kane defended the WWE Tag Team Championships against Wade Barrett and Ezekiel Jackson of The Corre.

The quick match ended when Show hit Barrett with a chokeslam to retain the titles.  All is not well in the world of The Corre right now.

Michelle McCool lost her match with Layla, in a loser leaves the WWE match.

As Layla was leaving, new WWE and former TNA talent Awesome Kong, who will be known as Kharma in the WWE came out to the ring and attacked McCool as a parting gift.

Sending a crude message to the entire WWE Divas locker room.

Michael Cole rolled up Jim Ross as he was whipping Jack Swagger to gain the win for his team. Unfortunately, it seems like this feud might not be over yet.  I think it has gone on long enough, what about you?

Without the good guys getting the win tonight, it isn't safe to say that this thing is over yet.

Rey Mysterio extracted some revenge from recent attacks from his opponent Cody Rhodes over the past few weeks.

Mysterio recently lost to Rhodes at WrestleMania 27, but Mysterio evened the score tonight with a victory over Rhodes in a Falls Count Anywhere match.

Mysterio won the match inside the ring, as he sprayed mist on Rhodes' face.  We could see one more match between these two at Over The Limit.

Overall, the show seemed decent but predictable. Edge making an appearance as his buddy Christian fulfilled his dreams was a special moment and helps put this pay-per-view over the top.

While I am not a big John Cena fan, I can't argue the fact that he deserves the WWE Championship.  It has been nearly an entire year since he has held the title.

Like the man or not, it terms of popularity, he is what Hogan was to the WWE in the '80s, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin in the '90s, and The Rock most recently.

Cena is the top draw when it comes to number of fans, period.

Cenation has the WWE Championship again and all is right in the WWE Universe, and all is right in the United States of America.
