Allen Bailey to the Kansas City Chiefs: NFL Draft 2011 Scouting Report

Aron GlatzerAnalyst IApril 29, 2011

This physical specimen from the University of Miami has ideal size for a 3-4 defensive end at 6'3'', 285 pounds. He could even stand to put on a few more pounds of muscle to handle the run at the next level.

The 2010 All-ACC second-teamer had a decent season, finishing with seven sacks for the season.

He ran a 4.77 40-yard dash along with impressive 36.5-inch vertical jump. He will definitely be a boom-or-bust player with a high upside should he ever reach his potential.

According to NFLDraftGeek.com:

His pure strength, and explosiveness give him a great foundation to his game, and if he can build off his natural abilities, he could be a dominant force at the next level. On the other hand, his athleticism is really about all he's got.

He was able to bully college sized defenders, and run around them, but in the NFL you need much more than athleticism to be an effective defensive lineman.
