Marcus Gilbert to Pittsburgh Steelers: 2011 NFL Draft Scouting Report

Dylan MacNamara@@DylanMacNamaraSenior Writer IApril 30, 2011

Marcus Gilbert is a mammoth OT from the University of Florida.

At just over 6'6", Gilbert has the size and athleticism to eventually replace Flozell Adams on the left side of the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line. However, the 2011 Senior Bowl invitee was routinely burned during practice in Mobile, and may need a few years to develop.

He is, however, very experienced, having made over 30 starts in his career for the Gators. Any player who makes that many starts in powerful SEC has NFL potential.

He'll likely help out on special teams with Pittsburgh during his rookie season and rotate in case of inconsistent play/injuries.
