Manny Pacquiao just might be the one charismatic figure in sports right now that can compete with the NFL Draft.
While the National Football League continues its three-day orgy of selecting the best of the best from the college ranks, Pacquiao continues training for his May 7 WBO welterweight showdown with "Sugar" Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao is a figure that transcends sports—boxer, Congressman in his native Philippines, singer, cologne endorser ... you name it, Pacquiao has probably done it.
The only thing he hasn't been able to do is nail down a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. If Pacquiao is generally acknowledged as the world's best pound-for-pound fighter, then Mayweather isn't too far behind. Their inability to come to an agreement to fight has continually frustrated boxing fans.
But, first things first. Pacquiao and Mosley on May 7, and then, if he wins, Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez in October. We'll keep you updated with all the latest news and notes on the fight.
