University of Kentucky coach Rich Brooks announced on Monday that Dicky Lyons Jr.'s season is over.

Lyons suffered a knee injury Saturday during the second quarter of the loss to South Carolina.

He was very badly missed in the second half, where Kentucky had only 53 yards of total offense.

Lyons has two torn ligaments, which will probably end his career in blue and white.

This is not what UK needed going into the second half of the season, where a bunch of young receivers will have to step up to fill the void left with his departure.

Randall Cobb will most likely play more wide receiver the rest of the year. The coaches have been saying that Cobb will play more at quarterback, but this changes everything.

This could be a very long rest of the season for the Cats of blue and white.
