The 2011 NFL draft made Cam Newton a Carolina Panther, as Newton went first overall on Thursday.

The 2011 NFL draft is upon us, and picks and trades will hit us in a flurry tonight. NFL mock drafts took us through these long past couple months, but it suddenly feels like all good news now.

Not only is the draft going on as normal, but the NFL lockout looks like it may be over. The potential barriers getting in the way of football seem to be irrelevant now.

Cam Newton, Von Miller, Marcell Dareus and a record 25 future NFLers are all in attendance to shake Roger Goodell's hand tonight. If you aren't able to catch the draft on TV, stick with Bleacher Report to make sure you get all the updates you need.

For the Web's best live blog on the NFL draft, check out Matt Miller's here.

For an easy summary of the picks so far with analysis, though, I'll be adding updates below. Comment at the bottom of the page with your predictions and impressions as the picks (and trades) are announced.
