It is an exciting time to be a Mountaineer. There is potential for WVU to have a big season in 2011 and send Bill Stewart out the way that he deserves, with another winning season and maybe even more.
So without further delay, here are four things happening right now that you should know.
- West Virginia is ranked 14th in Mark Schlabach's post-spring practice "Way-Too-Early Preseason Top 25."
Ryan Nehlen impresses and shows up in the WVU spring game in a way the we have ever seen him before. I personally hope he continues this success into the fall and the 2011 season.
The Nehlen name again involved in Mountaineer football is yet another thing to be excited about.
Four Mountaineer defensive players get drafted in the 2011 NFL draft, which should not surprise anyone since the defense was ranked in the top five in the nation last season.
However, Noel Devine and Jock Sanders, who are two of the most dynamic offensive players to come out of West Virginia, are undrafted free agents and must wait until the lockout is over before they know their NFL future.
- Morgantown celebrates Osama Bin Laden's demise in true Mountaineer fashion.
With spring practice now over, we as college football fans must wait four months until the regular season begins.
So until then, there is Baseball, NASCAR and the NBA playoffs.
