LSU vs. Florida 2007
Today, LSU will release its Tigers into “The Swamp” where they’ll meet some Gators. LSU is hoping for the best.
For the third week in a row, LSU is playing an SEC team (Auburn and Mississippi State were the others). The Tigers will have their hands full trying to contain Tim Tebow and the rest of Florida’s offense but LSU’s defense was able to do it last year (see video above) and may be able to do it again this year. Florida will have an equally tough time trying to stop the Tigers’ offense.
LSU and Florida were the two last BCS National Champions with Florida winning in 2006 and LSU hoisting the trophy in 2007. Florida’s championship hunt took a jump back when they lost to Ole Miss, 31-30, two weeks ago. LSU is undefeated. Florida and Georgia were picked by many to win the championship but with Florida’s loss to Ole Miss and Georgia’s loss to Alabama, the race now seems to be between LSU and Alabama. LSU is ranked at #3 and Florida at #11.
Last year, the Tigers won, 28-24, converting on four fourth down attempts with two of those coming on the game-winning drive. Kickoff is set for 7:08 Central Time.
