2011 NFL Draft: Da'Quan Bowers and Some Surprises to Brace for on Day 2
2011 NFL Draft: Predictions For Day 2 Surprises
With the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft over and done with, there will be little time for the dust to settle before more picks are made. Jake Locker and Christian Ponder were the most stunning picks on Day 1, so what does Day 2 have in store?
1. Ryan Mallett will slip to the third round: After a couple quarterbacks went earlier than expected, this one will fall further than anticipated. Mallett's alleged late night before a team visit will haunt him, whether or not he actually did anything wrong.
2. Da'Quan Bowers will be taken with the first pick of the second round: The New England Patriots are up first, and they are known to draft very well. They won't be able to pass up the talent of Bowers. This is more of a prediction than a surprise, but it's startling that he fell this far.
3. Casey Matthews will make it to Day 3: Casey Matthews is not his brother. The only reason many people know him is because of Clay Matthews' success. If he does get picked on Day 2, it won't be until mid-to-late third round.
