NFL Draft 2011 Results: Giants Interested in Florida's Mike Pouncey
In tonight's NFL Draft, both of New York's tabloid newspapers, the New York Post and the Daily News, are predicting that the New York Giants will pounce -- hey, their word, not ours -- on Florida center/guard Mike Pouncey.
The Giants mostly need a linebacker but they're stuck in no-man's land when it comes to the first round of the Draft -- their under-achieving 10-6 season failed to qualify for a playoff berth, but the record was good enough to keep them at the higher end of the draft with the No. 19 pick. Unfortunately for them, this year's drop of linebackers outside of Texas A&M's Von Miller is weak.
Pouncey, with his ability to play two positions, would give the Giants some extra depth on the offensive line, which never hurts. Especially when you're quarterback throws 25 interceptions and, let's face it, not all of them were Eli Manning's fault.
