2011 NFL Draft Rumors: Colin Kapernick Targeted by Dolphins and Raiders on Day 2
2011 NFL Draft Rumors Suggesting Colin Kaepernick Top Target of Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders Entering Day Two
Colin Kaepernick is one of the project QBs available in this year's draft, and at times was rumored to be a first round pick.
However, he slid out of the first round on Thursday, and remains on the board with other elite QBs Andy Dalton and Ryan Mallett.
NFL Network's Jason La Canfora had this to say about the Dolphins and Raiders interest in the Nevada QB,
"Kaepernick was seriously considered at No. 15 by the Dolphins, and if Miami can acquire a second-round pick, the Nevada passer would be the target, according to sources. Oakland also is enamored with Kaepernick and might explore options to trade up in the second round to pick him."
With the Dolphins not having any selections in the second round, they will likely have to use one of their picks next year in a deal to move up. They should likely target one of the New England Patriots' picks in the second round, as the Patriots are always looking for additional picks for the next year.
The Oakland Raiders do have a pick in the second round, but if they want to guarantee that they land Kaepernick, they will need to trade up above teams like the Washington Redskins.
