2011 NFL Draft Rumors: Da'Quan Bowers a Lock for Cleveland Browns?
2011 NFL Draft Rumors Suggest Da'Quan Bowers Could Land with Cleveland Browns
Da'Quan Bowers slid further than anyone expected, as he fell out of the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft last night.
He remains on the board for any team that is looking to select the Clemson DE. He entered the draft as the top-rated DE overall, as he is solid against the run and the pass.
Bowers did respond to concerns about his knee previously, as he had this to say about the current status of his knee to the Cleveland Plains Dealer,
There was a lot of speculation about my knee that wasn't true, the small procedure I had [repairing torn meniscus] was nothing that'll affect my playing. There should be no reason not to have me on draft boards.
While Bowers remains convinced that his knee is good to go, some teams did remove him from their draft board due to medical concerns.
With Bowers falling out of the first round, the biggest question entering Day Two is where Da'Quan Bowers will land?
Todd McShay's updated second round mock draft has the Cleveland Browns selecting Bowers at No. 37.
This selection makes sense for both parties if he slides a few more picks. The Browns were interested in Bowers as a first round target before concerns about his injuries arose, so they will certainly be interested in him with the 37th pick.
