The Ultimate Fighter: Team Lesnar vs. Team dos Santos is finally picking up steam after a tepid 2.5 episodes to start the season.
Some very vanilla reality content conspired with suspect fights to kill all the initial goodwill engendered by former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar's presence on set. Arguably the fastest rising challenger at 265 pounds, Junior dos Santos, was basking in the glow created by his good-natured approach outside of the Octagon, but even the cherubic Brazilian couldn't loosen the grasp ambivalence had over the early going.
Team dos Santos' Ryan "The Kid" McGillivray and Team Lesnar's Len Bentley stemmed the tide of negativity with an all-out battle that ended in a unanimous decision for The Kid. Their rousing, three-round performance changed the season's course for the better.
From there, "Stripper" Ramsey Nijem took over and turned Episode 4 into the season's best to date.
There was laughter, controversy in the form of a Lesnar mini-meltdown, full-frontal male nudity in a house full of dudes and an impressive showing inside the cage—really, all you could ask for from an installment of TUF.
With the training wheels finally off, the season is bound to start flying now, so tune back at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT to catch live updates and reactions to all the new developments.
