NFL Mock Draft: Paul Kuharsky Is Feeling Nick Fairley to the Titans at No. 8
NFL Mock Draft Has Nick Fairley As the Newest Member of the Tennessee Titans
Similar to the Jaguars being awarded Ryan Kerrigan in most mock drafts, Nick Fairley seems to be slated in to the No. 8 slot for the Tennessee Titans.
I can understand the sentiment. He is, at times, a dominant interior lineman that can stop the run and rush the passer. Sure he has some problems with his game but if he continues to improve at the rate he improved this year then he is going to be among the best defensive tackles before too long.
AFC South blogger Paul Kuharsky thinks that Fairley would be a nice fit in Tennessee.
“I think the defensive rebuild has to go inside-out. I think the character concerns on Fairley are overblown or are something that line coach Tracy Rocker, who worked with him at Auburn, and defensive coordinator Jerry Gray can handle. I think that the Titans can find ways to turn him into a consistently productive player. But maybe this match is too easy. The alternatives would be a defensive end, though Da'Quan Bowers has dropped for them because of his knee, or quarterback if they choose to be bold.”
I like that Fairley would be sticking in SEC country and that he would have a chance to make an impact immediately but I just hope he can keep his nose clean on the field.
