Is the performance more important than the score ?

Listening to the reaction from yesterdays result against the pub-side of Borats native tongue, it made me ask the question whether we are right to question a performance of a side that has just won 5-1.

Steve McClarens disastrous reign as England Manager showed that the three points in these games are the most critical outcome.

We must not fall in to the same trap as we did with Sven Goran Erickson, being quick to criticise the manager for lack-lustre performances in group stages, even though he always got the team qualifications in the major competitions.

We hounded Sven out of a job and what did we get instead ?

Mr. McClaren ! And what a disaster he was.

After the disaster of not qualifying for the Euro's, let's just be grateful we won and make sure we qualify for the World Cup this time. We can look at the performance of the side afterwards.
