Hurt at Home: OSU Marches into Columbia and Defeats Mizzou, 28-23

To the Missouri Tigers football team:

Let me start off by saying that I am not mad at you. You didn't play well, but Oklahoma State really impressed me.

They are a very good team, and to be honest, you did not deserve to win on Saturday. Mike Gundy is definitely a man. He had Gary Pinkel outcoached and Chase Daniel frustrated.

Derrick Washington...you couldn't get anything done on the ground. Chase...you were awful, turning the ball over three times against a Cowboys team that I thought would have huge problems against you.

Carl Gettis and the rest of the secondary...playing well for three quarters isn't acceptable. The two big passing scores killed us.

But this season is not over. One year ago, you guys lost to Oklahoma and still were able to take the No. 1 spot in the country later that year.

Next week, the most difficult game of the season looms. A road match up against the No. 1-ranked Texas Longhorns will be no easy feat. But if you can pull the upset, you can save your season.

How you respond next week will determine your legacy here in Columbia. Will this class of seniors be the disappointing ones who couldn't get into a BCS bowl? Or can you return to form and enter the BCS hunt?

Don't let us down, team.

Sincerely, your disappointed yet still optimistic fan,

Peter Fleischer
