The countdown is on for Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley.
There are less than two weeks to go before the big fight in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 7 for the WBO welterweight title. Surprisingly, there have been no issues in either camp.
Both men exude a quiet confidence, but neither has verbally sparred with the other. Ah, to return to the days of Mike "I want to eat his children" Tyson.
Pacquiao, obviously, has the higher profile of the two men, especially with his out-of-the-ring responsibilities as a member of Congress in his native Philippines, his shoe deal with Nike, and his singing career—among other things.
Pacquiao has proven to be wildly popular, in large part because of his boxing style—a mix of a classic counterpuncher infused with the reckless abandon of a brawler. His fights are always exciting.
As for the Sugar Man, Shane Mosley, the 39-year-old is hoping for career redemption after his unanimous decision loss to Floyd Mayweather in May of 2010.
