This NFL lockout has a lot of football players in depression mode. They are wondering what they are going to do with their time if there is no football season, or even if they miss a few games. There are some unhappy football guys out there right now.
That's because Zbikowski, or Tommy Z as his shorts say, has been moonlighting as a boxer this offseason. He has four professional fights under his belt, all victories, and he looks to be really talented inside a ring. These aren't just exhibitions that he is taking on, he is fighting well-trained, experienced fighters.
This most recent fight came on Saturday night against Blake Warner. It was a destruction at the hands of Tommy Z. He picked Warner apart throughout the first round, and with about a minute left in the round he starts landing jabs, hooks and uppercuts. Then, he just pounded on Warner's head, knocking him to the ground and the referee called a stop to the fight.
Zbikowski first started boxing professionally in 2006, while he was attending Notre Dame. He had fought a few exhibition fights between then and 2008, when he decided to focus solely on football.
Since there is no football right now, Zbikowski has the right to do whatever he wants. Perhaps he took some of the frustration that he feels with the NFL owners out on poor Mr. Warner.
