UFC 129 Predictions: Vladimir Matyushenko Over Jason Brilz on the Main Card
Truth be told, this is kind of a bizarre bout for the main card—Vladimir "The Janitor" Matyushenko is probably done contending at light heavyweight and Jason "The Hitman" Brilz certainly doesn't figure in the blue waters of the 205-pound division.
Don't get me wrong, both are dangerous in their own right and the Janitor is a legends in the sport. He's also 40 and finds himself in the deepest weight class in a sport that's seeing evolutionary jolts forward.
Granted, Brilz does NOT represent one of said jolts so I expect the Belorussian to add the American's pelt to his decorated wall by either first- or second-round TKO.
Matyushenko's only loss since re-joining the UFC was to the aforementioned Jon Jones, absolutely no shame there. He's also taken out Igor "The Duke" Pokrajac, Eliot "The Fire" Marshall and Alexandre "Cacareco" Ferreira for a nice little 3-1 run.
Mama always told me that, if I can't say anything nice, I shouldn't say anything at all. So I'll just remark that the Hitman is a professional fighter who's got knockout power so anything can happen.
