Manny Pacquiao: If Pacquiao Beats Mosley, Who's Next?
If Manny Pacquiao does the expected and defeats Shane Mosley on May 7 of their WBO welterweight championship beat, attention immediately turns to his next opponent.
Who that will be, though, remains a mystery.
At this point, any dreams of a bout with Floyd Mayweather are just that -- dreams.
WBO lightweight champion Juan Manual Marquez told BoxingScene.com that he wants a third fight with Pacquiao, but that doesn't seem likely, either.
"My goal, the priority in my career is Manny Pacquiao. For several days I've been training for my next fight, scheduled for June or July," Marquez told BoxingScene.com. "It's supposed to be a fight where I will defend my lightweight titles, and in November there could be the fight against Pacquiao. But the reality is, it won't be easy to get that fight. If I renew my contract with Golden Boy, there could be a problem. Pacquiao hardly accepts any fights with anyone (at) Golden Boy (Oscar De La Hoya's promotion company). Another way to make this fight is to go to another company, or work as a free agent."
