Should Robin van Persie Be Sold?

This article is sure to strike up a lot of controversy, but I feel it should be said.

No Arsenal fan dislikes "Rockin' Robin", and as an Arsenal fan I cannot say that I am any different. But surely there are at least a few out there who would agree with me when I say he should be sold?

He has one of the best left foots I've seen in my short life, he possesses great technique and vision, and he would be a leading start in almost any team in the world.

But he is VERY injury prone, sometimes greedy, and his football recently shows that he has an ego issue (which is clearly visible when he gets angry at not receiving a pass). He also shoots from ridiculous angles and although they seem close, a pass would be a much better option.

Another reason to sell him is that he is not getting any younger, and we could probably get a lot for him this coming summer.

Also we have four other strikers at our disposal already, and probably a fifth if you count Theo Walcott and his future of being a forward.

I know many will disagree but that's their opinion and this is mine, but he should be sold soon especially as Eduardo is coming back (hopefully) before the January transfer window comes, and he would be an ideal partner to Adebayor to spearhead our attacks.

He isn't "too good." - he's been far too inconsistent and I have criticized him repeatedly here..

So, I back your comments about the fact that he can be replaced.

But, sell him after 9 bad games? I'm not so sure.. but an interesting article nevertheless.

    Welcome to B/R Faisal!

Yeah but unlike Ade, van persie has NOT proved himself as a striker who can get 30 goals a season let alone play 30 games!

If we sold Van Persie it would have major effects on the squad.

Van Persie is a fully fledged international with bags of experience. We need him in the sense that we can't rely on the likes of Vela for crunch Premiership ad Champion's League games. Experience doesn't just lie in how many games you have under your belt. Van Persie has played in big games (FA cup finals, International tournaments, Champion's League final - ok, he didn't get off the bench but probably would have if Lehman wasn't sent off) and that is invaluable to the team.

Eduardo is a risk - time will tell how he'll react from injury.

It would be hugely unfair on Van Persie to flog him off as he has not done anything wrong.

    As for Rosicky...

RvP is a good striker, but i can't see him as unreplacable. Where do you need his experience if he is as inconsistent as he is?

I think that Bendtner and Vela has so much potential that they could replace RvP on any day.

Experience is good to have, but it is skills and a vision that makes player a good player. You can see that in Cesc.

Good point, but his presence, in my opinion, is also having a bad effect on the squad. The fact that he knows how good he is and that he wouldnt be dropped means that he doesnt always put 100% into every game! Also keeping would leave no room for Vela or Bendtner to get that valuable experience of playing in finals and big games in the league!

Well in that case aren't you a bigger bigger idiot for not being able to comprehend that someone else can have the opinion that you're only writing this article having thought long and hard about what it is you can write about that other people haven't..

You say he'd be "a leading start in almost any team in the world".. By that, I'm assuming you, yourself believe that he is one of the best players at the club, let alone the whole world.. So why would any club want to sell a player who, as you put it, can get into any team in the world..?!

Its like saying Liverpool should sell Gerrard. Or Milan should sell Kaka..

well in that case then since it is your opinion (no matter how wrong it is) then yes i can respect that you have your opinion on why i wrote this article, but just to correct you i truley blve in what i've written and people HAVE written about it.

and if you read after what i wrote about him getting in any team in the world you'll know that he is incompareable to the likes of gerrard and kaka! ofcourse he has his good points which i mentioned but he also has his bad which i also mentioned! now if u blve that his good points cover his bad then thats your opinion but to completely discard my opinion and saying i dont even blve it is wrong!

    gooner khoune

I don`t think that Van persie should sold,he his personal performent is both strike and also playmaker , he can links between midfield and striker, if look back for the game which without RVP , it was difficult for arsenal. I still believe that RVP will be better than before and will show you how to couple with Adebayor to make goals, I think Asene wenger knows well all about.

I've read this article twice and i'm really suprised at the criticism against Robin van Persie. If he has an injury free season you'll be regretting these comments. 'VAN THE MAN'

IF he has an injury free season! but the odds of that are slim!
and i wish i regret these comments as an injury free on form robin would be a vital asset its just that it seems like that is a big ask :P
