Alec Burks announced today that he is entering the 2011 NBA Draft. Burks is the No. 1 shooting guard on ESPN Chad Ford’s prospect list and is also 14th overall. Today at a press conference, Burks told the media:

"It was tough," said Burks, who plans to hire an agent in the coming days. "I was really deciding on coming back. I wasn't ready to give up the college experience. But I had to make the best decision for myself, and that's what I feel like I did." (ESPN)

Burks averaged 20.5 points, leading the Big 12 in scoring and also broke a record for most points scored in a single season. Burks led Colorado to a 24-14 record and made it to the semifinals of the NIT Tournament after not being selected for the NCAA Tournament.
