The 2011 NFL schedule has been officially released as thousands of Cleveland Browns fans watched with disbelief as the layout for the second half of the 2011 season was unveiled. Cleveland will close out their 2011-12 campaign with four divisional games in five weeks, while trading blows with the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers.
To open the 2011 season, Cleveland's schedule looks very promising. The Browns will open with three home games in four weeks, including the Cleveland version of the Battle of Ohio in Week 1. The Browns and Bengals split the season series in 2010 as each team took control on their home field and used timely offense to gain victory. The Browns will not see another divisional opponent other than Cincinnati until Week 13 when Cleveland hosts Baltimore at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
The Ravens and Steelers will meet the Browns on four occasions throughout the last five weeks which will be highlighted by a Thursday Night Football showdown between the Browns and Steelers on December 8th. The last time Cleveland and Pittsburgh met on Thursday Night Football, Cleveland came away victorious as the team rallied around Brady Quinn and knocked the Steelers out of playoff contention.
The revolving door that will become Cleveland’s schedule at the end of 2011 will have a welcomed break at Week 14 when the Browns will travel to Arizona and take on the Cardinals eight days before the Christmas Holiday.
