Duke Lands Big Man Ryan Kelly

Duke's basketball recruiting efforts over the summer might have taken a detour through Beijing, but once again Coach K has scored big after returning to the states.

This week's prize is Ryan Kelly, a 6'10" power forward who played his high school basketball in just up the road from Camaron Indoor in Raliegh, NC.

Kelly went from a relative unknown to an exploding list of big time offers over the spring and summer, including North Carolina, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt and others.

However, it was Duke who was able to convince Kelly that he'd fit in well with the Blue Devils, and Kelly announced his decisions on ESPNU, delighting the Camaron faithful who had been somewhat nervous over the summer's lack of big time prospects.

Ryan Kelly is a big time player with a silky smooth running jumper, and has developed into someone who might be able to play pro ball at some point. For now, he's focused on academics, and Duke winds up with a solid big man.
