Victor Ortiz vs. Andre Berto Video: Watch Ortiz Drop Berto In Round Six

Adam WellsFeatured Columnist IVNovember 17, 2016

In one of the best boxing matches of the year, Victor Ortiz was able to defeat Andre Berto to win the WBC Welterweight championship on Saturday night.

It was the first loss in 28 professional fights for Berto, who had been the welterweight champion since September 2007.

These two had a great back and forth battle for 12 rounds with both men being knocked down twice. Berto was rocked in the first and sixth round thanks to some heavy punches from Ortiz. Berto knocked Ortiz down in the second and sixth round with his own combination of speed and power punches.

Ortiz was a heavy, heavy underdog in this fight, as you would expect since Berto was undefeated and never really been challenged in his career. No one gave him a chance to win this fight, but he was able to persevere despite the odds and the early knockdown.

It was a sight to see, and the fact that it aired on HBO (so you didn't have to pay for it on pay-per-view) made it even better. If you watched it, you felt bad because this is truly a fight that would have been worth a $34.95 fee to see.

If you didn't watch the entire fight, it will air again on the network at midnight tonight. If you have a DVR, make a point to record this fight because it is one that you don't want to miss.
