The kind of drama and storylines that have come on behalf of the Lakers recently is the kind of stuff only a city like L.A. could produce.
Chicken Pox infection with at-risk superstars. Inappropriate Gay slurs resulting in fines and further action. An injured pair of big men. An inopportune losing streak.
All this going on while coach Phil Jackson tries to keep his guys focused on a 3-peat so he can retire in style, and on top.
For some of this drama, it’s good that it seems to wearing down, which is good considering that the defending world champs lost five of their final seven games.
The Hornets, meanwhile, lost their final three games of the season.
And despite all the drama, the Lakers are too tough, too deep and too experienced for New Orleans to provide too much of a threat to this West Coast Dynasty.
Expect Kobe Bryant and the Lakers wrap up the Hornets in five games.
