The NHL playoffs are upon us, and that means any little advantage can lead a team to the Stanley Cup. I know the games are played on the ice, but having a few good-looking women in your corner has to give you some confidence that could carry over into the games.
Sidney Crosby may be missing from this year's playoffs, but these hotties will make you forget all about Sid the Kid.
With that I present to you the sexiest hotties from the NHL playoff teams.
Valeria Sokolova: Washington Capitals
The Capitals ended up with the #1 seed in the East and will be taking on the New York Rangers in the first round.
Sokolova is a model that dated Caps superstar Alex Ovechkin.
As far as I can tell the relationship is over, but that doesn't mean she won't be supporting the Capitals in the playoffs.
Ice Girl: Washington Capitals
Hockey made a great step in creating a "fan-friendly" atmosphere when they started using ice girls.
The Capitals have them, and they're a big reason the team went 48-23-11 this season. I don't think many people would mind if this hottie toweled them off.
Tia Carrere: New York Rangers
The Rangers have a tough draw facing Ovechkin and the Capitals in the first round, so they're going to need all the fan support they can get.
Tia had a publicized affair with former Ranger Tie Domi in the early 1990s. Something tells me there's a special place in her heart for the Rangers this playoff season.
Lindsay Lohan: New York Rangers
The Rangers, who went 44-33-5 during the regular season, don't have ice girls, so we had to go with the hottest fan we could find. Lindsay Lohan has been seen at Ranger games in the past, so we have to assume she'll be cheering for them in the playoffs.
Maybe if she gets arrested at the arena she'll inspire the players like a coach getting ejected from the game.
Hot Fan: Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers earned the #2 seed in the East and will be facing the Buffalo Sabres in the first round.
This girl sleeps with a Flyers jersey, so she's obviously a huge fan of the team. Any team with this girl in their corner is sure to go far.
Ice Girl: Philadelphia Flyers
What is it about a hot chick with a shovel?
The Flyers went 47-23-12 in the regular season, and they have to give most of the credit to the well-maintained ice.
This Flyers ice girl will be sure to clean up the mess even if her team drops a few games in the playoffs.
Gia Allemand: Chicago Blackhawks
The Chicago Blackhawks drew the #8 seed in the west, but they are definitely a top seed in terms of hotties.
Allemand has been linked to Blackhawks defenceman Chris Campoli. Just having these memories in his head will make him and his team play better in the playoffs.
Ice Girls: Chicago Blackhawks
Like I said, you don't really think about Chicago's #8 seed when you're looking at these girls.
The Blackhawks have some of the hottest ice girls in the NHL, so it was impossible to pick one. I've decided to go with these two, but a simple Google search will show you the depth in their squad.
Noureen DeWulf: Buffalo Sabres
The Sabres drew the #7 seed in the East and will take on the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round.
DeWulf is an actress engaged to Sabres goalie Ryan Miller. Miller drew praise for his performance during the Olympics, but this might be an even greater accomplishment.
Hot Fans: Buffalo Sabres
Not only are these Sabres fans hot, but they're also doing everything they can to inspire their team that went 43-29-10 during the regular season. That's the sign of a true fan.
Nothing makes a guy play harder than knowing there are two hot girls waiting for him behind the Zamboni.
Tammy Plante Horton: Boston Bruins
The Boston Bruins earned the #3 seed this season and will be playing the Montreal Canadiens in the first round.
Tammy is a former Playboy Playmate who's married to Bruins winger Nathan Horton. With Tammy giving her full support, the team is sure to do well in the playoffs.
Ice Girl: Boston Bruins
The Bruins carry a strong regular season record of 46-25-11 into the playoffs where they're quest for the Cup will begin.
This Bruins ice girl lives for the playoffs. She's been known to coast during the regular season, but she's always ready to deliver both on and off the ice during the playoffs.
Hilary Duff: Pittsburgh Penguins
Despite not having Sidney Crosby for half the season, the Penguins were still able to snag the #4 seed in the East.
The Penguins are trying to win the whole thing without their best player, but it doesn't hurt that they have hotties like Hilary Duff on their side.
Duff is married to Penguins center Mike Comrie.
Ice Girl: Pittsburgh Penguins
The Bruins will hope that their supporting cast will be good enough to get them past the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round.
Ice girl Kendra clearly bleeds yellow and black. In this outfit she may be a bit cold on the ice, however.
Rachel Hunter: L.A. Kings
The Kings earned the #7 seed in the West and are playing the San Jose Sharks in the first round.
Rachel Hunter is a famous swimsuit model (she's also known for being Stacy's Mom) who has been linked to Jarret Stoll of the Kings.
I don't think Stoll cares whose mom she is.
Ice Girl: L.A. Kings
With a regular season record of 46-30-6, the Kings are hoping to catch fire in the postseason.
The Kings ice girls are another "stacked" squad, with plenty of options to choose from. We would expect nothing less from Los Angeles, and the Kings are hoping to win the Stanley Cup while playing ice hockey 20 minutes from the beach.
Fan: Montreal Canadiens
The Canadiens are the #6 seed in the East, and they're going to need all the help they can get against the Boston Bruins in the first round.
I don't know who this girl is, but she sure loves the Canadiens.
And we sure love her.
Fan: Montreal Canadiens
The Canadiens had a regular season record of 4-30-8, but with fans like this they should have all the support they need in the playoffs.
She looks like some kind of Canadiens super hero. If only we had x-ray vision right now.
Ice Girl: Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning earned the #5 seed and they're looking to pull an upset on the Crosby-less Pittsburgh Penguins.
This Lightning girl is clearly ready for the playoffs. When the Lightning girls team up with Steven Stamkos, there's just no stopping them.
Ice Girl: Tampa Bay Lightning
With a record of 46-25-11, the Lightning are hoping to make a run in the playoffs.
The Lightning ice girls were so hot that we had to include two of them. For once it seems that getting struck by lightning wouldn't be such a bad thing.
Hot Fan: Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks had the best record in the NHL, and with fans like this we can see why.
The Canucks would be better off putting her on the ice do distract the Blackhawks in the first round.
Missy Peregrym: Vancouver Canucks
Being one of the best teams in the NHL, the Canucks have certainly picked up some bandwagon fans.
The Stick It star has been seen at Canucks games in the past, and she will no doubt be making an appearance during the playoffs.
Hot Fan: San Jose Sharks
The Sharks earned the #2 seed in the West and will take on the Kings in the first round.
This Sharks hottie takes her fanhood to the next level. Not only does she dress up in full pads, but she also writes a blog about the team.
Smart and beautiful? Count me in.
Emma Andersson
The Red Wings earned the #3 seed in the West and are taking on the Phoenix Coyotes in the first round.
This Swedish model is married to Red Wings center Henrik Zetterberg. It has to be easier to play with confidence when you know you're going home to this every night.
Hot Fan: Detroit Red Wings
Detroit had another strong regular season with a record of 47-25-10. The Red Wings are one of the best franchises in NHL history, and with fans like this you can see why.
Although it does beg the chicken/egg type question: Which came first, the fans or the success?
Hot Fan: Phoenix Coyotes
The Coyotes are the #6 seed and will play the Detroit Red Wings in the first round.
The Coyotes moved to Phoenix in 1996, which makes them a relatively young franchise in the city. They've quickly developed a fan base of hotties, however, and this girl is the ring leader (or rink leader?).
Ice Girl: Phoenix Coyotes
Phoenix had a regular season record of 43-26-13, and hope to make a run in the playoffs.
The Coyotes not only have hot fans, but they also have a hot cheerleading squad called The Pack. Coyotes travel in packs, so why shouldn't their hottie cheerleaders?
Ice Girl: Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks earned the #4 seed in the West and are playing the Nashville Predators in the first round.
I think we all shed a tear when the Ducks eliminated their association with the awesome Disney movie by dropping the "Mighty" from their name and changing uniforms.
Having girls like this on the ice help take our mind off the pain.
Ice Girl: Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks finished the regular season with a record of 47-30-5.
Anaheim may soon have an NBA franchise, but it will be hard for the Kings/Royals cheerleaders to top the Ducks Power Players.
Carrie Underwood: Nashville Predators
The Predators are the #5 seed in the West and will play the Ducks in the first round.
Carrie Underwood married Mike Fisher when he still played for Ottawa. In a kind twist of fate, Fisher was traded to Nashville, where Underwood has a home, midway through the season.
Now Fisher gets to go home and have Carrie sing away the pain from his bumps and bruises.
Kellie Pickler: Nashville Predators
Carrie Underwood isn't the former American Idol country singer to date a hockey player. The player Pickler used to date, Jordin Tootoo, happens to play for the same team as Undewood's husband.
I don't think the term "poor man's" has ever been more appropriate.
