Hockey: Getting to Know the Sport
Hitting the ice with your freshly sharpened skates, hearing them slice open the ice, the slap of your stick hitting the puck, the banging of bodies against each other, the sound of the horn letting everyone know you just scored a fantastic goal.

These are the sounds hockey players hear every night they hit the ice. Just imagine this combined with the roar of the crowd. A lot of young players get nervous and feel sick their first NHL game, this is understandable! People who say so and so is a bad player his first few games, need some brains put back in. For one, new players to the NHL are not used to the noise and excitement, some players get so into it they get sick.

Hockey players for the NHL go through a lot physically and mentally, they need to rest and be calm. So the next time you see a new guy, congratulate himfor playing a good game!
