Opening Day right around the corner

The Blackhawks will be opening the season this Friday at Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Rangers. Tomorrow is a big day for the Blackhawks because they must submit their rosters to the NHL and they still have some big decisions to make such as who will be the 6th and 7th defense-men and the final forward spots.

It is likely that the Blackhawks will send center Colin Fraser down to Rockford and put Joakim Lindstrom on waivers in an attempt to get him to Rockford. The likely candidates to be sent to Rockford of the defensive core are Aaron Johnson, Jordan Hendry and possibly Matt Walker. 

The real question is what are they going to do with Antii Niemi and Nikolai Khabibulin. We should know by Tuesday afternoon at the latest.

Well I know I can not wait until Friday when I sit on my couch with a few of my buddies, a few beers, a pizza and watch the Chicago Blackhawks season opener on NHL Center Ice. Thank goodness hockey is back
