The Ultimate Fighter: Team Lesnar vs. Team dos Santos has been—how shall I put this delicately—losing its must-see battle to the paint drying in the other room.
No, Brock Lesnar's Midas-like presence hasn't been working its magic thus far.
Normally, everything the former UFC Heavyweight Champion touches turns to promotional gold, but that's not been the case with TUF 13.
The first episode was a little mundane, but such is the nature of first episodes—they're either fantastic or yawners by nature since there's no body of work in which to be invested.
Either something sensational happens and gets your pulse racing right away, or you grin and bear it while story lines develop.
The UFC's reality show is no different.
Unfortunately, Episode 2 did little to advance either interest.
We got teased with controversy when Keon Caldwell suffered a crisis of commitment, but that petered out quickly as Keon hadn't engendered much juice in the first place. Additionally, a gentle undercurrent of displeasure surfaced when the judges strangely awarded Team Lesnar's Chris Cope a unanimous decision over Javier Torres.
Nevertheless, the show needs a boost so let's hope the next installment gives us one.
As usual, Bleacher Report will be live blogging the show with results and reactions if you can't get to a television.
Check back at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT when the action starts.
