2011 NFL Mock Draft Has Philadelphia Eagles Flying With Colorado's Jimmy Smith in NFL Draft

The Philadelphia Eagles like to build in the trenches early on in the draft, but this scenario does not give them too many options.

Offensive tackle Derek Sherrod could be the pick, although I think it is a bit high for him, and Colorado has a talented, but troubled, cornerback waiting for a team to take a shot on him.

The Eagles have weapons all over the field on offense and need to find a way to help protect Michael Vick, but I do not see a player worth drafting here.

Defensively they do not have a ton to speak of in the secondary and even if Dimitri Patterson does return, he's hardly a legitimate starter.

Jimmy Smith has top-15 talent, but his off the field concerns are troubling to a lot of teams, in fact, some teams even took him off their draft board.

He's got great size and speed, can make plays on the football and if he can he can straighten things out, could be an elite corner in the NFL.

If any team has the coaching staff and players worthy of giving someone a chance, it is the Philadelphia Eagles.
