2011 NFL Draft: Cam Lewton Looks to Bring Winning Ways to Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers entered last season thinking their quarterback position was one of their strengths. They had two promising young quarterbacks in Matt Moore and Jimmy Clausen. Moore got injured, and Clausen looked abysmal, thus the reason the Panthers are looking for a quarterback, once again.
In Cam Newton, the Panthers get a dual-threat quarterback that has all the potential in the world. He was a star at Auburn and lead them to a National Championship in one season, not to mention winning the Heisman Trophy along the way.
Newton has both the arms and the legs to be successful, but he has never played in a pro-style offense, and did not have to make many decisions at Auburn.
The one-read system helped Newton to boost his numbers both through the air and on the ground, and helped make the system easy to learn. However, in the NFL he is going to have to learn to go through his progressions before bailing out and using his legs.
If Newton can learn how to play in a pro-style offense, there is no reason to suggest he will not be a star in the NFL.
