Shannon not right fit for the U

Randy Shannon is a quality person. If you've heard the story about his upbringing, you know that he had a rough time growing up. Unfortunately, his coaching skills don't measure up for a major college football program. After Florida kicked a meaningless field goal late in the fourth quarter, Shannon responded post game by indirectly going after Urban Meyer. He said that "when you do things and people see what kind of person you really are, you turn a lot of people off. Take from that what you want. It helped us more than you will ever know." Unsurprisingly, it hasn't helped Miami. The 'Canes have lost two straight games at home to North Carolina and Florida State. Miami's defense, which was thought to be very good, has been burned by two, above average offenses. Defense was supposedly Shannon's forte. Want another telling sign that the U will not return to top form? Last week's loss to North Carolina saw only 35,00 fans show up to the game. That's great passion for an up-and-coming team isn't it? I don't know what it's going take for Miami to return to the top-tier of college programs. But Shannon isn't the answer.
