San Diego Chargers Difficult To Gauge In 2011 NFL Mock Draft

Much like the New York Giants, the San Diego Chargers missed the playoffs in 2010, but are pretty solid at every position on both sides of the ball.

Still, they could use some improvements here and there. And while they did get plenty of pressure on the opposing quarterbacks, Antwan Smith and Larry English could use some competition.

For that, they should look right at Missouri's Aldon Smith. He's ideal for a 3-4 defense as an outside backer and can contribute in coverage.

More conventional defensive ends are on the board here: Adrian Clayborn, Cameron Heyward, Muhammad Wilkerson. But speed and versatility will be paramount in the AFC West. They have a dynamic duo of runners in Kansas City to defense, a potential NFL rushing champ in Oakland, and maybe even Tim Tebow to defend against in Denver.

Smith's speed and size would be ideal for keeping that defense on track.
