Atlanta Falcons Draft: Falcons are looking for an upgrade to No. 2 receiver:
The Atlanta Falcons aren't going to be able to go after wide receivers A.J. Green or Julio Jones without either a miracle draft scenario that sees the prospects drop dramatically and/or the Falcons make a trade way up.
At 27th overall—and 59th overall in the second round—the Falcons can still get a quality receiver. While Bucky Brooks of NFL.com sees only Green and Jones as No. 1 receiver prospects, it doesn't matter to Atlanta that it will be picking from the second tier.
Receivers such as Torrey Smith, Titus Young and Jonathan Baldwin could fill Atlanta's need for a No. 2 upgrade. Roddy White is a premier lead receiver. Michael Jenkins is a solid fit at No. 2 or No. 3, but Harry Douglas could be replaced.
While using a first-round pick on any of the second-tier receivers could be a reach, one or more of them could still be available at 59th overall. There is a growing premium on quarterbacks at the end of the first round and early in the second round that will serve to push other prospects back.
