NFL Draft 2011 Might Bring Robert Quinn to Houston

If Robert Quinn is available at No. 11 for the Houston Texans then I think they would jump all over that pick. It almost seems like a no brainer.

He could end up being the perfect fit to come in and play the 3-4 pass rush outside linebacker after playing defensive end for the North Carolina Tar Heels in college.

The big question surrounding Quinn is just how he will react after being suspended for the entire 2010 season.

According to CBS Sports’ Texans RapidReports Quinn’s former defensive coordinator thinks that the time off won’t affect the former Tar Heel.

“Houston could consider Robert Quinn with the No. 11 pick. Quinn’s year-long suspension in 2010 will motivate him to achieve greater success in the NFL, says Everett Withers, his defensive coordinator at UNC. ‘He’s very disappointed in himself and he’s trying to atone for those things by doing the best he can.’”

Withers goes on to say that he thinks Quinn could end up having the same impact as another former player that went on to success in the NFL.

“After coaching both Robert Quinn and Jevon Kearse, Everett Withers compared the former UNC DE favorably with the 1999 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. ‘Those two have the ability to jump out of the stance and put pressure right down on the tackle trying to pass protect,’ Withers said.”

I think that is high praise but I could see it happening.
