"The Geeks shall inherit the Turf" so the sign read and indeed they have. What does it say about a conference when Gameday visits the campus of the school who used to be the annual Homecoming Date? This is the reality of the SEC these days. Pinch me when USC has to worry about Washington State and Arizona like they have to worry about Cal and when Gameday visits Bloomington for an Indiana FOOTBALL game. Vandy took care of business in primetime Saturday against an Auburn team that continues to search for an offensive identity... Led by their backup QB. The long-elusive Bowl game is merely just one win away!

Eric Lawhead No. 8

Jason Perkins No. 9

A Vandy team in the top ten? Did hell just freeze over? This looks like a team of destiny, but that destiny lies just on the other side of a tough schedule. Good luck Commodores, you're gonna need it to get past Georgia, Florida and Tennessee.

Jesse Monday No. 9

Trey Bradley No. 9

They deserve it. Won't hold it long. But they deserve it.

David Epstein No. 9

Bryan Gonzalez No. 9

A very impressive come from behind victory against Auburn and an undefeated record bump Vani in the top ten. However the No. 4 schedule makes the road a lot tougher.

Aleksey Dubrovensky No. 9

Ryan Williams No. 9

David Rung No. 9

Matt Wright No. 9

Robbie Munroe No. 10

This team reminds me a lot of the movie Catch Me If You Can. Specifically the part where Tom Hanks asks Leonardo Dicaprio "How did you do it Frank? How did you cheat on the bar exam?" Like Frank, the Commodores are outwitting opponents and enjoying every minute of it.

Kevin Paul No. 10

Again, they blow the "'Dores" off the SEC.

Landon Hulet No. 10

Jeremiah Coggins No. 10

Tennessee has a favorite love, and right now it sure isn't running out of a T. The Dores coached by Bobby Johnson have officially put themselves as a top program by knocking off South Carolina and Auburn. The game against Georgia on 10/18 can carry them to the top at warp speed, or might shoot them down just as fast.

Steve Moreau No. 12

Ron Johnson No. 12

The Commodores are getting no respect. But they earned that respect when they survived Auburn. They are the most surprising team of the SEC. And they are starting to look like this year's Boise State.

Michael Shibley No. 12

What type of parallel Universe are we living in?

Shawn Withrow No. 12

Dave Nemetz No. 12

What in the name of Jay Cutler is going on here? Vandy is dandy, and if they didn't have a reputation for being the redheaded stepchild of the SEC, they'd surely be ranked in the Top Ten and maybe the Top Five. Until they knock off an SEC heavyweight though (and no, Auburn does not count), they stay here at 12.

Archie Adams No. 12

Their warmup with Mississippi St. could really help the Commodores before their potential top ten matchup against Georgia next week.

Joe Barton No. 12

Vandy is taking the SEC by storm, but you never know when the parade is going to end. They beat Auburn despite losing starting QB, Chris Nickson. You've got to love that defense that took a while to show up. A game that looked like a blowout turned into a tight win for the Commodores.

Jordan Basenback No. 12

James Corley No. 12

Great win over Auburn.

Emmett Corboy No. 12

Bill Wilson No. 12

Beat Auburn for the first time in many years. Not a pretender in SEC this year.

Chad Haynie No. 12

How good are the 'Dores? Well, no one has been able to beat them yet. They will face their third Top 25 opponent in two weeks when they travel to Athens to face the Georgia Bulldogs. This week, a much easier task. Mississippi State.

Andy Walsh No. 12

Commodores have surpised everyone and become the cinderallas of the NCAA this season. With Miss State next on the schedule, look for the slipper to stay on at least one more week.

Proved they're for real this week, improving to 5-0 and beating a good Auburn team

Justin Potts No. 13

Is this right?! Vandy plays smart, clean, errorless football to earn the lucky 13 spot.

Mark Jones No. 13

Surprised me by beating Auburn. What kind of man's name is Mackenzi?

I'm convinced.

One more in six tries to get bowl eligible. Goals need to stay small and let it build as needed.

Jonny S. No. 14

Playing good football....I think the Auburn team they beat is GROSSLY overrated but I like the way Vandy plays and they deserve this spot.

Kevin Buller No. 14

The Commodores proved to the world that they can compete, but be ready for the Mississippi State Bulldogs! The Auburn team you just beat by 1 point beat Mississippi State by 1 point, ignore the hype and stay focused. You are the feel-good story of the year, and we college football fans love it!

College Football Fanatic No. 15

What an impressive win over Auburn. Kudos to the former doormat of the SEC.

Peter R No. 15

Traditional doormat rises up.

Toby Parker No. 15

I honestly didn't think they'd beat Auburn. And I think the teams behind them in the SEC East didn't think they'd win either...

Sloan McCrary No. 15

William Blake No. 15

The Commodores are a huge surprise in the SEC, and the Auburn win sealed it for me. I never have ranked them this year until now. Auburn is definitely going backwards.
