B/R Top25 BYU Comments Week Seven
Landon Hulet No. 1
Excellent team. 2 shut outs, one against PAC-10 UCLA. I don't believe all this crap about the BSC conferences being better and that they should be ranked higher.
Jason Perkins No. 5
This team wins games in the first quarter. The Mountain West is the third best conference in college football and if they remain undefeated, or even lose one, they should be in the hunt for another NC.
Joe Bleacher No. 5
Even after sloppy second and third quarters, the Cougars still found themselves up 34-0 entering the fourth. The Aggies spoiled BYU's bid for three straight shutouts, but 11 straight quarters and a 15-game winning streak aren't poor numbers to throw around.
Paul Augustin No. 6
Joe Barton No. 6
I love these Mormons playing football. They really know what they are doing and I don't expect them to fall into the Hawaii letdown category. Max Hall is becoming one of my favorite QBs in college football. I don't care if they are in the Mountain West, this is a talented team.

They've earned it.
Steve Moreau No. 7
Ron Johnson No. 7
The Cougars are still getting no respect from the voters. But I figured they would since the voters were around when BYU was created and built. Either way, they're the team to beat in the Mountain West...and they could be one of the best teams in the country not talked about.
Scott Glesner No. 7
Mosang Miles No. 7
Tim Pollock No. 7
Archie Adams No. 7
They'll just continue to climb as the teams ahead of them knock each other off. They'll be no lower than 3rd or 4th by the time they face off against Utah.
Dan Alexandre No. 7
Dave Nemetz No. 7
The Cougs could be for real, but it will be pretty hard to tell until bowl season, unless they slip up.
Bryan Gonzalez No. 7
Have outscored their last three opponents 137-14.
Scott Pusich No. 7
Bill Wilson No. 7
Beaten some teams very badly from big conference. Score a ton a points.
Gene Slater No. 7
Michael Collins No. 7
David Rung No. 7
Will Shelton No. 7
Could jump into the Top 5 next week, and then serious National Championship conversation can begin.

Very uninspired performance against Utah State (well, for at least half of the game, anyway), but they at least won. They need to perform a lot better though, considering that they probably should've beaten the Aggies by at least 40.

Like the cougars to go undefeated and get a big bowl game
Andrew Kajfasz No. 8
BYU is knocking on the door a potential BCS buster role after a 20 point win over Utah State.
David Epstein No. 8
Kevin Paul No. 8
It's looking more and more like a battle with Utah for the MT WEST title on November 22nd.

Gotta put BYU in the top 10, even though they haven't played anyone.

Does this team have anything to worry about before Utah?
Nick Martin No. 10

Rounding out the top ten with an unimpressive list of wins.
William Blake No. 10
Brigham Young is a good football team. They have a Heisman canidate quarterback in Max Hall. Too bad their coach doesn't believe in them.
BabyTate No. 10
Eric Thomason No. 10
Jonny S. No. 10
Might go undefeated...if they play a top 5 bcs opponent in a bowl, it could be Hawaii vs Georgia part 2. They are good... not THAT good.
Paul Peszko No. 10
Decisive Victory
Robert Kelly No. 10
Okay, they're undefeated, but who have they played?

Just outside the Top 10. Nothing against the Cougars, I just think the 10 teams ahead of them are better.
Emmett Corboy No. 11
Ryan Williams No. 11
Andy Walsh No. 11
Class of the MWC (and maybe the PAC 1+9), but a tough road ahead and I don't think they could beat any of the big dogs ahead of them.
Keith No. 12
tom scurlock No. 12
Jason Hackney No. 12
Not totally sold on BYU. They can thank Hawaii last year for that. They are winning though!
Michael Cline No. 12
Kevin Buller No. 12
Brigham Young keeps plugging away, but they have not had a real challenge yet, that will come in two weeks when they play TCU, but they better stay focused and not look past New Mexico. Going to play the Horned Frogs on their turf will be much harder if you are already defeated
Jeff Lovely No. 12
The Wicked Stepmother that is the BCS is hiring and the Cougars are the favorite to take the Cinderella role. They cruised past the Aggies of Utah State 34-14 and will now face New Mexico who rank 96th in total offense and 85th nationally in points scored. A visit to TCU looms and the Cougars have to avoid looking ahead.
Alex Farrer No. 13
Jeremiah Coggins No. 13
The Cougars are 5-0 and if it weren't for their scoring totals versus opponents, I certainly wouldn't have them at number fourteen. I'm not a fan of their high ranking, although I do respect what their doing. I'm guessing they'll slip up and it won't matter. The odds are against them.
Colin Flosi No. 17
The most overrated team in the country.
