2011 NFL Mock Draft: Rob Rang Believes Ryan Mallett Will Fall to Third Round
2011 NFL Mock Draft: CBS Analyst Rob Rang Thinks Mallett Will Fall to Round 3
The free fall of Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett is starting to gain some steam.
CBS draft analyst Rob Rang thinks it's definitely plausible to think Mallett could fall as far as the third round. Here's what one of his sources told him:
"I'm telling you right now, he could slip right out of the second round, entirely."
At this point, nothing would surprise us when it comes to Mallett.
He's got everything you want in a quarterback—huge arm, impressive frame and a certain amount of leadership qualities (he was voted captain his first year after transferring to Arkansas)—but there's plenty of worries too.
Both his character concerns and on-field red flags are enough to drop Mallett out of the second round.
He's a statue in the pocket, and like many SEC and future NFL pass rushers, Mallett isn't going to be able to avoid this free fall.
