NFL Draft 2011: Titans Draft Plans Could Be Changing Because of Kenny Britt
NFL Draft 2011 Plans for the Titans are Suddenly Up in the Air After Kenny Britt's Arrest
The Titans got some unfortunate news earlier this week when star receiver Kenny Britt was arrested on three charges of eluding a police officer, lying to an officer/hindering apprehension and obstructing governmental function.
While that in itself is unfortunate for the Titans, the real problem is that this one event could end up changing the Titans entire plans for this draft.
The general consensus was that the Titans would hope for a quarterback at No. 8 but if they didn’t get the guy they wanted they would probably get someone on the defensive line or maybe a linebacker if Von Miller falls to them for some reason.
However, according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, this arrest changes things.
"They were not thinking about a wide receiver with the eighth overall pick, I guarantee you," Solomon Wilcots of CBS and the NFL Network declared. "Now you have to think about receiver, and they have to be thinking, 'Are you kidding me? I can't believe we may have to shuffle the deck because this guy went out and did something stupid.' Kenny Britt is making some people stay in the office overtime the next few nights, I'll tell you that."
I think that the Titans could think about a receiver at No. 8 but I don’t know that A.J. Green or Julio Jones will be available to them.
Sure it might force them to pick up a receiver later in the draft but I think the Titans are going to have to stick with their original draft plan.
