Pro Wrestler Edge calls it quits after a long career.

If you have ever watched a pro wrestling match and become a fan, it's because you either admire how athletic these guys are or you are in awe of how fearless these guys are, pulling off those impossible stunts.

One of those warriors had to call it a career tonight. According to WWE.com:

Less than a week after his successful title defense against Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania XXVII, World Heavy Weight Champion Edge has been forced to retire from in-ring competition due to injury. The unexpected news brings to an end a storied WWE career spanning 13 years and consisting of 11 World Title reigns.

Now if you have ever seen Edge fight you know he is the ultimate tough guy so it would take a very serious injury for him to retire. But apparently he is suffering from symptoms of neuropraxia.

An online medical dictionary defines NEUROPRAXIA as:

a condition in which a nerve remains in place after a severe injury although it no longer transmits impulses.

This isn't the first time that Edge has had these symptoms, apparently:

An MRI administered at Atlanta Midtown Diagnostic Imaging last Monday was sent to Dr. Joseph Maroon, a renowned neurosurgeon and professor of neurosurgery at The Pittsburgh School of Medicine. After careful examination of the MRI, it was determined that Edge would never be cleared to compete again, and thus, he is forced to retire.

I always liked Edge. He was a really hard worker, especially when he first joined the WWE and was trying to find his way.

This news will be a shock to most WWE fans, as Edge was really popular. Here's hoping that since he was a great personality as well as a wrestler, that he will still be able to be involved in World Wrestling Entertainment.

Because if this is the end of Edge in the WWE, he will surely be missed.
