Masters 2011 3rd Round Scores: Can Tiger Woods Make a Run on the Back 9?
2011 Masters Leaderboard: Tiger Woods Stalls on Moving Day:
No one in the Top 10 has made any kind of a serious move through 9 holes. Rory McIlroy and Jason Day share the top spot at 9 under par with a raft of players, including Tiger Woods lurking within 4 shots of the lead.
Woods battled his putter today narrowly missing birdie putts on 4, 5, and 9 and shockingly lipping out for par from 2 feet on 11 to fall to 2 over on the day and 4 shots back of the lead. He will need to turn it around on Amen Corner if he wants to figure into the story on Sunday.
Fans have the tournament committee to thank for the tepid scoring today as they have placed many of the pins in nearly inaccessible places.
I am beginning to get the feeling that anyone who can string two or three birdies together on the back nine will be able to scare the leaders a little bit and capture much needed momentum heading into the final round. But who will it be? Can Tiger find his stroke or will one of the Europeans make a move? Stick around to find out.
