The last week has been great for baseball on TBS. The Dodgers shocked the Chicago Cubs. The Phillies defeated the feel-good Brewers. The Angels and Red Sox played an extra-inning marathon. The Chicago White Sox and Tampa Bay might go the distance.
However, in between grand slams, strikeouts, and crying Cubs fan, I keep asking myself one thing: When is Frank TV returning to TBS?
Frank Caliendo’s late night impersonation show is quite popular. You’d think TBS would mention it once in a while.
Is the person at TBS who schedules the promos sick? Did Charles Barkley eat Frank? Is Caliendo pulling a Chappelle? Is the economy to blame?
I know Frank’s not dead—I saw him Sunday on the Fox NFL pregame show.
Whatever the reason, I would suggest to the TBS brass the following marketing plan: Air at least one Frank TV promo in every commercial break. You should be saturating the airways with promos. It’s the MLB playoffs, after all, and as we all know, people who like baseball like impersonations.
I would also suggest a return date of Oct. 21. I have no idea if that date will even work. I must admit I pulled it out of thin air.
I will continue to watch the MLB playoffs on TBS. While I do, I’ll have one eye out for baseball and one eye out for the return of Frank TV—it’s very funny.
