Brock Lesnar vs. JDS: TUF 13 on Spike TV—Chris Cope Defeats Javier Torres
“I think they orchestrated the waltz for two rounds.”
This Brock Lesnar fellow is kind of astute; who’d’ve thunk it? The waltz is an embarrassingly accurate description of what just transpired, definitely better than “a fight.” Ugh, that makes two boring scraps in a row, but at least this one has the drama of a mysterious outcome.
True to the editing flags, Chris Cope emerges with the final round and the fight.
Well, that final five minutes could’ve gone either way so tabbing Cope as the victor is fine and dandy from that perspective. But I’m still confounded as to how he eked out one of the first two rounds.
For those scoring at home, Brock’s post-fight speech wasn’t quite as inspirational or eloquent.
But, screw it, Team Lesnar already had the W in hand so it’s all gravy after that. In the other locker room, dos Santos plays good cop and Lew Polley handles bad cop duties smashingly. The coaches are certainly establishing themselves.
Let’s just hope we get some better action out of the fighters next week.
See you then.
