Brock Lesnar vs. JDS: TUF 13 on Spike TV—Javier Torres vs. Chris Cope, Rd. 3
Whoa, what the hell happened here?
Talk about an adrenaline rush versus an adrenaline dump. Suddenly, Chris Cope is bouncing around, all piss and vinegar while Javier Torres looks wiped out. That was a rough decision by the judges, but that happens (too frequently).
Gotta fight through it.
At the moment, Cope is pure enthusiasm and very little execution. Torres, on the other hand, looks too gassed to execute. Translation, this stanza isn’t the prettiest display of MMA you’ll ever see. A trip attempt by Torres results in him collapsing to the ground with Cope sprawling awkwardly almost on top of him.
A shot to the groin from Cope doesn’t impress Herb Dean so he tells them to keep fighting. Neither man looks to interested in following those directions. A second shot to the goodies convinces Dean and he gives Torres a minute to recover while Cope screams in his corner.
Sow-motion superman punch from Torres lands and Cope tries to return fire with kicks; this is some gentle striking, ladies and gentlemen. Nothing doing but a whole lotta clinching and striking from outside effective range.
How do you score a round where nobody lands anything worthwhile?
