Kansas City Royals Off To a Thrilling Start, but Will It Last?

Now, it is hard to get excited for a baseball season as a fan of the Kansas City Royals.
This season, however, it seems to be harder. For me, anyway.
After five games, the Royals stand 4-1 and atop the AL Central after four thrilling come-from-behind victories that include two walk-off home runs and a walk-off hit.
I know it is still very early, but I see something in this Royals team that I haven't seen before.
Today's 7-6 win over the Chicago White Sox confirmed what I see—that is, a drive to win no matter what the score says.
In previous years, if the Royals were down 4-0 after the first inning or even later innings, you could almost see the players upset and it was almost like they were uninterested in playing, as if they knew it was over and there was no chance of coming back to win.
Today, I saw the fire burning in the eyes of the players, and the desire and drive to come back and win.
Not only for themselves, but for the fans as well, this has been one of the most memorable homestands that the Kansas City Royals have ever had.
The fanbase is stoked, the players and staff are stoked and only time will tell how long it lasts into the season.
Will the Kansas City Royals Make The Postseason In 2011?
We finished spring training with the best overall record. The last time we did that, was 2003 when we led the AL Central all the way into September, before a colossal melt down sent us from seven games up into fourth place.
This season, I can see us doing the same, only holding on to the spot longer and even reaching the postseason. Come September when we get the expanded roster, Moustakas will already be here and I can see them calling up Hosmer and a host of other players to fill out the roster.
They say 2012 is the year we are supposed to turn it around, as far as I see it, 2011 may be the year it happens instead.
