Ranking the SEC Vs. the ACC After Week Six

The ACC and SEC BlogOct 5, 2008

Up until now, I have ranked the teams in the ACC and SEC separately. But after seeing six weeks of action, I think we can put an educated list together of the conferences combined.

1. Alabama
2. LSU
3. Georgia
4. Florida
5. Virginia Tech
6. Vanderbilt
7. Georgia Tech
8. Kentucky
9. Wake Forest
10. North Carolina
11. Florida State
12. Auburn
13. Maryland
14. Clemson
15. South Carolina
16. Ole Miss
17. Boston College
18. Tennessee
19. Miami
20. Duke
21. Mississippi State
22. Virginia
23. NC State
24. Arkansas

The SEC dominates the top of the list with the top four teams. I still have Maryland and Wake Forest semi-high because I will give a team one bad week before I really move them down. But Maryland is definitely on bottom feeder watch after being blown out by UVA.

As bad as NC State is, Arkansas is worse, and it is not that close right now.

How would you rank these two conferences together? Am I giving the SEC too much credit? Is Duke really better than Mississippi State? Is Auburn still too high at No. 12?
